My Month of Presence
I've been enjoying August, no wonder most Italians take this month off.
I've enjoyed many a late night dining with friends or being at a lovely party.
This month I've spent my days being present to the moment, without any form of rushing.
I've regularly checked in with myself more and more and said "no" where it was going to be too much of a demand on my time or energy.
As a result of staying true I had way more space for what felt like fun including learning new things.
I've learned a lot about style through Kibbe Style videos on YouTube.
I've even learned how to do rollers in my hair at home!
And now my hair definitely looks better when I attend a party.
I've enjoyed writing morning pages and bringing to life the beginning of another book.
Plus....
Reading some gorgeous books about people who inspire me, including the life story of Sophia Loren, what a courageous woman.
And of course going to the beach with my guy Maurizio or hanging by our friend's pool, always followed by the most amazing nocciola & pistacchio ice cream from Dolce Vita gelateria.
Surprisingly, I've deeply enjoyed cleaning my house!
Who knew that was possible?
But when my cleaner declared she too was taking August off, I threw myself into keeping on top of my apartment, organizing everything including three closets.
Sometimes we tell ourselves we aren't good at something when in fact we're likely as good as anyone else....
I used the mantra, "Today is a day of completion," to help me get motivated and stay on track.
I'm now preparing and resting for going back to work.
I hope you too are feeling good, refreshed and ready for a new beginning this September, that's what this month offers and I look forward to us being together again.
Much love,
Grace
